Good questions, straight answers
Questions we hear most on the point
Is the written quote the final amount I pay?
Yes. Whatever your plumber writes down before starting is exactly what lands on the invoice, and evening or Sunday work never carries an overtime loading, so the number cannot creep once the job is under way.
Will someone actually answer at 2am?
A real person picks up whatever the hour, weekends and public holidays included. That means you can talk an emergency through the moment it unfolds, rather than leaving a message and waiting on a callback while water spreads.
How does living this close to the water affect my pipes?
Salt in the air steadily wears through exposed metal. Spindles, temperature valves and tank shells within sight of the seawall tire years sooner than the same parts would a few kilometres inland, which shapes what we fit here.
A leak upstairs in our block, can it reach lower flats?
In the three-storey walk-ups it very much can. Water from a burst fitting on an upper floor tracks straight down through the structure, so shutting the riser early is what keeps one flat's fault from becoming several.
My drain has slowed for no obvious reason, why?
Beneath the sand, pipe joints ease apart and let grit settle wherever the flow slackens. Roots from the foreshore trees also nose into aged clay lines, and between them a drain that once ran freely starts to crawl.
Can you quote me over the phone?
We can sketch the likely options once you describe what is happening. The firm figure, though, only comes after a plumber has seen the fault in person, because a blind guess rarely does you any favours.
What if a repair fails a few months down the track?
Our labour is guaranteed for life. If any workmanship of ours later gives trouble, we are back to set it straight, and that return visit costs you nothing at all.
Do you deal with strata and shared property?
From a single flat through to an entire block, we work across shared lines with ease. When a fault sits on common pipework we also hand the strata manager the records and certificates they need to keep.
My storage tank is dripping, is that urgent?
A weeping cylinder rarely recovers on its own and can rot a cupboard or soak a floor slab. It is worth a same-day look even while some warm water remains, before a slow drip turns into a burst.
Which types of hot water can you service?
Gas, electric and continuous-flow units all sit within our scope to check, mend or fit. Which one suits you comes down to how a particular household gets through its supply across a typical day.
Is there any charge just to get a quote?
None at all. Turning up and pricing the job is free, and you walk away owing nothing if the written figure does not suit, so there is no risk in simply asking.
How do you find a leak nobody can see?
Listening gear and moisture readings narrow a concealed leak to a small patch first. That way a slab or wall is only opened where the water actually is, rather than torn up across a room on guesswork.
Do you cover the suburbs next to the point?
Our vans reach Sandringham, Sans Souci, Ramsgate Beach, Ramsgate and Beverley Park as readily as the foreshore. More often than not one is already working a job close by, so the wait stays short.
What should I switch off before you get here?
Close the main tap at the meter to halt a general flood, or the little valve under a single fixture for a local one. If gas is in the air, step outside and ring (02) 9072 0502 from there.
Do you fix small jobs like a dripping tap?
Absolutely. A single worn tap or a running cistern gets the same fixed price and lifetime-backed workmanship as any larger job, and small faults left alone tend to grow into costly ones.
Do I have to be there when you come?
For most work yes, since the fixed price follows from a plumber inspecting the fault on site. We can still talk the likely path through with you beforehand so there are no surprises on the day.
What sort of work falls outside what you do?
We keep to plumbing, gas and drainage rather than straying into other trades. Everything from taps and toilets to hot water and blocked or broken drains stays with one accountable team.
